The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) has emerged as the winner of the open format battle that has taken place as Voice over IP has become a common application in IP Networks. Magnetic North provide full support for both SIP Voice Recording and H323 Voice Recording and provide penalty free migration to enable customers to move between one and the other within our license model. Our Scalable SIP Call Recording architecture supports recording of Voice in G711, G729 and other codecs and multiple levels of audio packetisation in a technology framework that can scale to support tens of thousands of concurrent calls, which is essential for carrier and hosted provide call recording support.

So how does Optimise integrate with SIP?

SIP support is our core emergent platform to provide coverage of VOIP networks for both Maximise and Optimise. We have engineered elegant and innovative integrations that require a low overhead on the underlying session boarder controllers or SIP servers that we are interconnected with.

Platforms it works with
SIP Recording is support for standard SIP signalling as well as variants such as SIP-T, SIP-I and other variants of the protocol as well as on the fly support for multiple codecs. We can acquire media using network taps from any location in a network both Local or Wide Area and then using remote recording servers capture, compress and stream the recorded files at rates as low as 0.5kbps to the central Optimise application server for storage and management.

VOIP recording is achieved using either network mirror ports on data routers to provide us with a copy of the VOIP traffic to record, or we recommend and encourage customers to use specialist network  Tap units which provide a more scalable solution and have less impact on the overall network  and its management.

So how does Maximise integrate with SIP?

Maximise supports SIP and represents itself as one or more endpoints handling many concurrent calls to make outbound calls to both advisors and target numbers.  This mechanism is extremely efficient and has a low processing overheard on SIP Session Controllers and interworks with leading Session Border Controllers including Nextone and Nortel CS2K in the carrier arena as well as all the enterprise PBX solutions from Mitel, Nortel Avaya and Cisco.

Maximise can provide call blending in SIP environments using its own inbuilt inbound call handling and routing functionality providing full reporting and message management to callers.

Platforms it works with
SIP Dialling is supported for standard SIP signalling as well as SIP Variants such as SIP-T, SIP-I and other variants of the protocol as well as on the fly support for multiple codecs.
